Subject Description | In this subject students will build on writing and reading skills acquired in 116-001 Beginners French IA and 116-002 Beginners French IB. Students successfully completing the course should be able to write accurately in basic French, using the range of grammatical structures studied and in a range of genres from short descriptive texts to letters and poems; read a variety of French texts from poems to newspaper items and short articles; and appreciate aspects of Francophone cultures. |
Assessment | Written work and class tests totalling 2000 words, a 2-hour exam, and a hurdle requirement of 80% attendance. |
Prescribed Texts | Some supplementary reading texts will be supplied by the department.
