110-109 Japanese 4B or satisfactory completion of a placement test. Admission to fourth year honours or the postgraduate diploma in Japanese for fourth year students.

Subject Description

This subject consists of two weekly sessions, one devoted to the development of reading skills through newspapers, magazines and the other to spoken skills through discussion.

Assessment

Assignments and quizzes totalling 1400 words, and a 100-minute written examination, and a 20-minute oral/aural test. Extra written work totalling 1000 words for 4th year. Students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take examinations.
