Subject Description | This subject is aimed at the understanding of culture-specific expressions and phenomena that require factual/historical background knowledge. Topics have been selected carefully to provide students with an adequate frame of reference in order to discuss current issues in Japan via cross-cultural analysis. |
Assessment | Assignments and quizzes totalling 2000 words, a 1-hour examination, and a 20-minute oral project work presentation. An additional translation exercise totalling 1000 words for fourth year. Students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take examinations. |
