Subject Description | This subject aims to assist advanced learners of Japanese to attain near-native Japanese proficiency. Students are encouraged to work independently, or collaborate with other students in groups to promote their learning. The teacher will provide assistance for students to carry on activities in class. Topics to be covered will be chosen from contemporary issues and issues from the past, essays and novels, Japanese traditional verses, classics, technical papers etc. Semester specific goals will be indicated on the course outlines prior to the beginning of semester. |
Assessment | Assignments, quizzes, and oral presentation totalling 2400 words for 3rd year, 3400 words for 4th year, and a 100-minute final examination. Students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take examinations. |
