Subject Description | This subject aims to enhance those linguistic and technical skills required in research and presentation by using modern technology as an aid. It will familiarise students with internet searches, email correspondence, and electronic presentation. All activities are conducted in Japanese. Students should learn different styles of the language through a) massive readings on the Net, b) electronic correspondence with native speakers of Japanese, and c) making slides for presentation. Students should also acquire basic skills for reading hypertexts with help of an on-line dictionary, emailing in Japanese, and presenting their work using presentation software. |
Assessment | Written work totalling 3000 words for 3rd year, 4000 words for 4th year, and a 20-minute oral/aural examination. Students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to submit the final essay. |
