Prerequisites | Completion of Japanese 2A or equivalent. New students who have had some prior experience with the language may not enrol unless they have taken a placement test in the week preceding the first week of semester. |

Subject Description | This subject provides students with an opportunity to read and listen to authentic Japanese materials and learn to communicate in Japanese on a range of topics. Students will learn a further 150 Kanji (Chinese characters) and will be introduced to various aspects of Japanese culture. The acquisition of Japanese language skills will be assisted by independent learning in computer assisted language learning or laboratory use. |
Assessment | A 2-hour written examination (2000 words), a project (1600 words), and quizzes, oral and aural tests totaling 4400 words. |
