Prerequisites

110-101 Japanese 2B Core and 110-102 Japanese 2B-IT or satisfactory completion of a placement test. New students who have had some prior experience with the language may not enrol unless they have taken a placement test in the week preceding the first week of semester.

110-104 Japanese 3A-IT.

Four hours of language classes per week

Subject Description

In this subject there will be two classes for separate activities each week: speaking and reading. Topics cover everyday situations and students will be introduced to 100 new Chinese characters.

Assessment

Assignments and quizzes totalling 1000 words, a 2-hour examination, and two 10-minute oral tests. Students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take examinations.
