110-025 Introductory Chinese 1B and 110-026 Spoken Introductory Chinese 1B or equivalent. New students may not enrol unless they have attended an interview and/or taken a placement test in the week preceding the first week of semester.

A 1-hour lecture and three hours of language classes per week

Subject Description

This is a post-elementary subject in Chinese. By the end of this subject students should know 900 Chinese characters and should have a good grasp of basic grammatical structures.

Assessment

Class participation, assignments and/or tests totalling 3000 words and a 1-hour exam.
