A 1-hour lecture and two 2-hour practical language classes per week

Subject Description

In this subject the Greek conventions for various types of formal discourse are analysed and practised, including formal correspondence, formal reporting, technical description and public announcements. In the process, advanced Greek grammar is studied and practised, and the higher registers of Greek vocabulary introduced. Linguistic skills will also be extended through projects developed and reported on in class, and involving interaction with the local Greek community.

Assessment

Regular assignments totalling 2000 words, a 1000 word project, a 2-hour written test, a 10-minute oral/aural test, and two 10-minute oral class presentations.
