Subject Description | The objective of this subject is to enable students to analyse horse enterprise management systems in order to suggest improvements in the effective use of resources. The content includes organisation, resource management and decision-making for management of venues commonly used for major horse events; effects of improved combinations of resources on the technical and economic performance of studs, stables, riding establishments and agistment farms; the use, management and financial performance of alternative livestock enterprises operated in association with a horse enterprise; the effective use of technological breeding, training and managerial aids; and preparation of a written program outline planning the evaluation and analysis of the horse industry and the development and operation of a horse business. |
Assessment | Internal students: assignments of 2000 words (60%); 2-hour test (40%). External students: assignment of 3000 words (100%) |
