Subject Description | On completion of this subject students should have gained an extensive knowledge of the structures and contexts of the genres studied, a working knowledge of theoretical writings and analytical methods of the topic studied, and an ability to apply these methods to similar genres and to undertake independent research. The seminar topics available are Music in Rainforest Societies; Paris! From Berlioz to the Ballet Russes; Renaissance Italy and Romantic Piano Music. |
Assessment | An essay or class assignments up to 2000 words (50%); a written examination or end-of-semester project (50%). |
