Subject Description | Students will acquire a knowledge of their rights and obligations and the processes involved in establishing and maintaining a career in music. The subject will be delivered by a range of professionals practising in music-related areas such as in the law, accountancy, the commercial world, medicine, psychiatry, librarianship, sound recording and production, arts administration, arts managers, entrepreneurial activities, music criticism and instrument making and by professional musicians involved in academic, orchestral or solo careeers, composing, conducting and studio-based teaching. |
Assessment | A report of 500 words (20%); an essay of 1500 words (50%); a 1000-word web-based assignment (30%). |
