A grade of B or higher in the B Mus audition, a pass in the Faculty musicianship and aural test and a minimum IELTS score of 5.5.

Subject Description

This subject involves content-based English for academic purposes. Students should develop their academic skills through a study of the history of Western music styles. The skills focused on include the ability to write reports and essays fluently and accurately, take effective notes in Music lectures, read academic music history texts effectively and critically, and speak appropriately in academic settings.

Assessment

Integrated listening/reading/writing assignments totaling 2000 words (40%), two written assignments, the first of 800 words (20%) and the second of 1200 words (30%), and tutorial participation (10%).
