Subject Description

The subject is based on landscape design projects that will be directed by external practictioners and/or academic staff. During the course of projects each practioner's design methodology and design ethos will be shared and discussed as students work through and develop their own design responses to the project briefs. Students will be asked to investigate theoretical and conceptual ideas and to look at the practical application of these ideas during the course. At the conclusion of this subject students should be able to demonstrate advanced skills in design at varied scales and within different emphases; an understanding of alternate approaches to designing landscape through practical and theoretical applications; an understanding of their own developing design ethos; and further development in graphic and verbal communication skills.
