Subject Description | This subject explores the processes and skills involved in planning transport and land use in pursuit of environmentally sustainable and socially equitable outcomes. Studio-based work will provide an opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired. Three principal aspects of transport planning will be explored: 1. Planning and operation of urban public transport; 2. Designing pedestrian- and public transport-friendly urban spaces, especially 'district centres'; 3. Preparation and evaluation of regional transport plans and major infrastructure plans; 4. Preparation of local and regional travel demand management strategies. Students will have opportunity to specialise in one or more of these areas. |
Assessment | Individual and group work equivalent to not more than 6000 words. |
