Subject Description | Regular meetings will be held with the supervisor during Semester 2 for advice on subject matter and technical execution of the work. One oral progress report will be required at the end of Semester 1. Students will develop an insight into a specific area of research and experience in basic research methods such as literature search, objective setting, data collection and problem-solving; develop an ability to handle source materials and data, and to interpret and present them in a coherent manner in accordance with accepted conventions. |
Assessment | Written report of up to 15 000 words to be submitted at the end of Semester 2. The report must first be presented orally at a seminar. Although the seminar is not assessed, the report cannot be accepted unless there has been a presentation at a seminar. |
