Subject Description

Regular meetings will be held with the supervisor during Semester 2 for advice on subject matter and technical execution of the work. One oral progress report will be required at the end of Semester 1. Students will develop an insight into a specific area of research and experience in basic research methods such as literature search, objective setting, data collection and problem-solving; develop an ability to handle source materials and data, and to interpret and present them in a coherent manner in accordance with accepted conventions.

Assessment

Written report of up to 15 000 words to be submitted at the end of Semester 2. The report must first be presented orally at a seminar. Although the seminar is not assessed, the report cannot be accepted unless there has been a presentation at a seminar.
