Subject Description | Students will work in groups and individually on a studio-based programme integrated by four small assignments aimed at clarifying particular issues of the larger brief. The objective of this subject is to investigate the relationship between individual buildings and urban settings whilst providing an opportunity to examine the technical and formal aspects of multi-family housing. Students are expected to 1. develop an understanding of the connection between architectural form and construction technology, boundaries and space, exterior and interior, texture and perception; and 2. be able to represent this connection concisely and clearly in a visual format. Graphic requirements emphasize hand-drawn documentation that includes different scales, from site plan to building details. |
Assessment | Assessment will be based on the final presentation of the major project and a review of a portfolio of all assignments set during the semester to the equivalent of 15000 words. |
