Subject Description

Structures and Construction 3B is an extension of the structural behaviour, design and construction given in Structures and Construction 3A. More advanced aspects of design detailing and documentation of concrete, and steel. Prefabrication of building elements. Precast concrete construction and steel portal frames. Concrete ground slabs and basement construction. Composite and tilt slab construction.

Assessment

A 2-hour examination paper. Written and drawn assignments and tests equivalent to not more than 5000 words.
