Subject Description | Topics covered include introductory mineralogy and sedimentary petrology; principles of stratigraphy, including lithostratigraphy, biostratigraphy and sequence stratigraphy; principles of palæontology; and introduction to geological mapping and air photo interpretation. |
Assessment | A 2-hour end-of-semester written examination; a 2-hour practical examination or reports totalling up to 1500 words; written report and assessment of fieldwork totalling up to 10 pages. |
