Subject Description | This subject deals with knowledge as an organisational resource and its importance for innovation and organisational learning. Topics to be covered include types of knowledge and knowledge processes in organisations; the impact of organisational structure and culture on the distribution and exploitation of organisational knowledge; the relationship between tacit and codified knowledge; the development and content of knowledge management policies; techniques of information and knowledge mapping; and means of acquiring and evaluating social and corporate intelligence. At the completion of the subject, the student should be able to:

Assessment | A 2-hour end-of-semester written examination; one individual assignment; one individual or group class presentation. The weighting of assessment components will be announced at the commencement of the subject. |
