Subject Description

This subject has four modules which examine the roles and responsibilities of the physiotherapist as a health care provider and the current practice of physiotherapy within the health care system. Professional Issues includes mangement and presentation skills; Occupational Health and Ergonomics addresses the issues of risk identification and management in the workplace; Community and Public Health looks at the wider issues of health promotion in populations; and Life Span Movement Disorders introduces the role of the physiotherapist in areas where there is lifelong disability, developmental delay and acquired disabilities.

Assessment

Three written assignments of no more than 2000 words each (60%). Presentations: oral/poster (40%).
