Subject Description | This is an advanced subject on the principles and techniques of syntactic analysis and argumentation, emphasising formalisation of syntactic concepts and the different approaches from various theoretical perspectives. The theoretical frameworks to be investigated include LFG, HPSG and the Minimalist Program. The topics covered will vary from year to year, and they will be drawn from current issues in syntactic theory. |
