Subject Description | This subject traces the destruction of European Jewry during the Second World War, with consideration given to other cases of genocide in history. Students should, at the end of the subject, be able to understand the circumstances of historical and contemporary genocides; to examine the relationship between ideology and genocide; to identify and understand the behaviour of perpetrators, bystanders and victims during the Holocaust. |
Assessment | Class participation and written work totalling 4000 words. |
