Subject Description | This subject will introduce students to a range of research methodologies relevant to their chosen careers, and especially to the skills required for implementation of their thesis research. Students will choose three methodology 'modules' from the list of modules available. The program coordinator or thesis supervisor must approve the choice of modules. The actual modules offered vary from year to year, but typically, they cover topics such as Introduction to Statistics for Social Scientists, Descriptive Statistics, Inferential Statistics, Survey Design and Analysis, Geographical Information Systems, Geocomputing Narrative Analysis, In-depth Interviewing and Participant Observation, Experimental Design Analysis. |
Assessment | Written work and practical exercises totalling 5000 words. |
