Students must be concurrently enrolled in 116-050 Beginners Italian Part 1B.

Three hours of language classes and one hour of conversation class per week

Subject Description

This subject provides a comprehensive introduction to contemporary Italian. Language classes will familiarise students with the structures, rules and skills necessary to communicate in Italian. A weekly conversation class assists the language learning process and improves spoken and listening fluency. Continuous assessment, through tests, exercises, and other activities, is fundamental to ascertaining the student's progress in the acquisition of Italian. By the end of the semester, students should have developed oral and written skills that will enable them to achieve a reasonable level of competency in Italian.

Assessment

Class tests and written work totalling 2000 words, language assignments totalling 1000 words and a 1-hour test.
