Subject Description | This subject covers a range of topics, such as Francophonie, francophone cultures and identities, French culture. On completion of this subject, students should be able to understand and appreciate the historical facts, the opposing ideologies involved in the making and consolidating of francophone cultures, as well as the complexity of francophone societies; identify and analyse the specificity of francophone cultures as well as the influence of French culture in the works of French-speaking authors from regions previously protected or colonised by France. |
Assessment | A 45-minute seminar paper, subsequently written up and totalling 2000 words, and an essay of 3000 words. |
