Subject Description

This subject is designed to enhance students' autonomous learning skills in Japanese through research and presentation using multimedia tools. Students will have an electronic interactive relationship with native speakers of Japanese within a 3D learning environment. Students will also undertake a semester-long project creating a web site. Students should develop near-native proficiency in Japanese through synchronic correspondence (Chat) with students at Japanese universities. Students should also further research and presentation skills using internet and web composing software.

Assessment

Written work totalling 3000 words for third year, 4000 words for fourth year and a 20-minute oral/aural examination. Third year students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to submit the final essay.
