Subject Description | This subject aims to assist advanced learners of Japanese to attain near-native Japanese proficiency. Students are encouraged to work independently, or collaborate with other students in groups to promote their learning. The teacher will provide assistance for students to carry on activities in class. Topics to be covered will be chosen from contemporary issues and issues from the past, essays and novels, Japanese traditional verses, classics, technical papers etc. Semester specific goals will be determined at the end of Japanese 6A in negotiation with students' needs. |
Assessment | Assignments, quizzes and oral presentation totalling 2400 words for third year/3400 words for fourth year, and a 100-minute final examination, and a 10-minute oral/aural test. Students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take examinations. |
