Subject Description

This subject covers four areas: reading comprehension, translation, composition, and oral/aural practice. 300 Chinese characters will be introduced. Authentic texts will be used as teaching and learning materials and classes will be conducted principally in Japanese.

Assessment

Assignments and quizzes totalling 1000 words, and a 2-hour examination, and a 20-minute oral test. Extra written work totalling 1000 words for fourth year. Third year students are required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take examinations.
