Subject Description | In this subject students should learn to hold sophisticated discussions in Indonesian about issues ranging from matters of everyday life to historical developments and social, political and cultural phenomena in Indonesia and to express their ideas about these topics in essays in standard written Indonesian. Students should read a variety of Indonesian socio-historical, political and literary texts. |
Assessment | Written work and/or aural/oral tests equivalent to 2500 words, class participation, and a 1.5-hour examination at second and third years. Written work and/or aural/oral tests equivalent to 3500 words and a 1.5-hour examination at fourth year. Second and third year students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examination. |
