Note

This subject is normally taught at the Clayton campus of Monash University, although other arrangements may be made if there is sufficient demand. This subject will be offered if there is a combined minimum enrolment of eight students.

Subject Description

This subject builds on the knowledge and skills gained in 109-140 Introductory Ukrainian 1/1B. It will be offered in 2000 if there is a combined minimum enrolment of eight students. Four hours per week are dedicated to the acquisition of practical speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in the Ukrainian language. In the remaining hour students receive an introduction to the major contemporary cultural and social issues confronting the Ukraine and other Slavic and East European countries.

Assessment

A 2-hour written examination, weekly written assignments equivalent to 2500 words, two 30-minute tests and a 10-minute oral examination.
