Subject Description

This subject looks at the 2000-year span of Korean history and in particular at the Choson Period (1392-1910). It reflects on Choson society via a number of topics - history, religion, society and family organisation, law and the arts. Students who complete the subject should be able to communicate in the language in everyday situations; understand slightly more complex speech; read simple texts; and write short compositions.

Assessment

Two 500 word assignments, a 1500 word essay, class participation, and a 2-hour examination.
