Subject Description

This subject is designed to develop students' intensive reading skills through a program of specifically selected Korean media articles, supplemented by oral and written exercises. Materials are drawn from current Korean newspapers and magazines, and presented in such a way as to encourage further development of Korean language skills. The subject is comprised of grammar, reading, writing, and oral work, all of which are examinable. The following three topics will be covered throughout the semester: The Korean Community's Lifestyle in Australia; The Korean Community's Eating Habits in Australia; and Education & Language Maintenance of the Korean Community in Australia.

Assessment

Two written assignments, two oral presentations and class participation.
