Subject Description

This subject extends the student's competence in the written and spoken Korean language by offering further instruction in language patterns, grammar, reading, writing, conversation and aural comprehension. Using textbooks, tapes, videos, computer exercises and personal interaction, the classes take a comprehensive approach to learning language as it is spoken, read and written in Korean. Literacy skills are expanded through the introduction of approximately 100 Chinese characters and a wide range of audio-visual materials will be used.

Assessment

Two 2-hour written examinations, two 10-minute listening examinations, two 5-minute oral examinations, and class participation.
