This subject is the equivalent of HAK 106 Written Korean 1B and HAK 107 Spoken Korean 1B at Swinburne University. Students must enrol in and complete both subjects at Swinburne University to receive credit at the University of Melbourne for this subject. Formerly available as 920-135. Students who have completed 920-135 are not eligible to enrol in this subject.

Subject Description

This subject is comprised of conversation and aural comprehension, both of which are examinable, as well as instruction in language patterns, grammar, reading and writing. It is designed to expand students' range of oral and aural Korean language skills together with their reading and writing skills using more advanced grammar patterns and vocabulary. A wide range of audio-visual materials will be used, including language slides, cassette tapes, and video cassettes.

Assessment

Two 2-hour written examinations, two 5-minute oral examinations, two 10-minute listening examinations, and class participation.
