Subject Description

This subject involves consolidation of work learned in first semester with particular reference to the situational context of speaking, listening, reading and writing the language. The experience of the Vietnamese community in Australia is analysed by using post-1975 Vietnamese literary works, newspaper articles and other relevant research. Students who complete the subject should be able to take part in a conversation with a native speaker; and deal with matters relating to the basic needs of immigrants and visitors from Vietnam.

Assessment

A book review of 1500 words, an assignment of 1500 words, a 1-hour written test, and a 2-hour oral exam. Students must attend at least 70% of classes to be eligible for assessment.
