Subject Description

In this subject Year 12 skills in Greek are consolidated and extended through exercises in understanding a variety of authentic spoken and written materials, and through practice at speaking and writing with due attention to grammatical accuracy and appropriate usage. The materials used also serve as an introduction to contemporary Greek society and culture. Students should be able to communicate in Modern Greek on a wide range of topics relating to Modern Greek culture and society with a reasonable degree of grammatical accuracy.

Assessment

Regular assignments totalling 1500 words, a 2-hour written test, a 15-minute oral/aural test and class participation.
