Subject Description | This subject constitutes a more advanced level practical introduction to the Portuguese language variety and to Brazilian and Portuguese culture. As in the case of 922-032 LaTrobe-2/3P1:Introductory Portuguese the student will acquire the language through a range of activities including language laboratory work, computer aided exercises, role play, pair work and through the study of Luso-Brazilian culture and society as represented in the cinema, television, radio and press of the Portuguese-speaking world. Students who complete this subject should be able to understand, speak and write Portuguese at an initial intermediate level, and have an intermediate level mastery of grammatical structures. |
Assessment | Aural comprehension and transcription exercises, reading performance and comprehension, oral production, written exercises, an essay of 1500 words and a 2-hour exam. |
