Subject Description | This is an advanced language oriented subject which studies aspects of the Spanish language and its relationship to society, as seen through the media and through film. Features of Peninsular and Latin American Spanish, including regional and social variation and ongoing changes in the contemporary language are studied. The subject has a strong practical orientation and is particularly relevant to students interested in advanced studies in Spanish and/or language teaching. |
Assessment | An essay of 2000 words, four transcription exercises, five questionnaires, two comprehension tests, and a 20-minute seminar paper equivalent to 2000 words for 3rd year, 3000 words for 4th year: class participation at 3rd year. |
