Subject Description

The general objective of this subject is to develop an understanding of key operating environment factors in the Australian dairy industry - and associated management systems.

At the completion of this subject students will be able to:

  • identify key internal and external operating environmental factors;

  • understand the linkages between these factors and business management;

  • identify key industrial and business pressures, constraints, threats and opportunities;

  • identify, analyse and evaluate strategic approaches to key identified opportunities and threats.

The subject will focus on the many inter-dependent linkages impacting on the Australian dairy and food industries. These factors - both internal and external - can be examined via a series of environments.

Assessment

Assignment (20%); case study (30%); research project (50%).
