Subject Description

The objective of this subject is to extend the participant's ability to:

  • assess the suitability of established trees in particular locations;

  • determine the safest and most efficient method of removing inappropriate trees;

  • develop the skills and expertise to remove problem trees.

The content includes: Assessment of established trees, tree removal techniques for problem trees, tree removal machinery, spur climbing, branch removal, rope lowering, aerial chain saw operation, softwood falling weed trees.

Assessment

Practical exercises (50%), examination 60 minutes (30%), assignment (20%).
