Subject Description

The objective of this subject is to extend the participant's ability to:

  • demonstrate competence in the use and care of basic machinery used in the park and large garden industry;

  • demonstrate capacity to apply basic surveying techniques in creation of base plans for irrigation and drainage systems;

  • demonstrate the ability to use basic survey equipment for estimation of materials required in changing levels etc.

The content includes: Tools and machinery selection for large garden management, operation and care of tools and equipment, use of dumpy and other levelling devices for surveying techniques, drawing plans and elevations of reconstruction sites using surveying techniques.

Assessment

Examination 90 minutes (30%), assignment x 2 (20 + 50%).
