Subject Description

The objective of this subject is to extend the participant's ability to:

  • describe and perform basic plant propagation techniques;

  • describe and perform basic plant culture and maintenance techniques.

The content includes: Basic techniques for field and container plant propagation and production; introduction to soils, other growing media and plant nutrition; preparing a field site for planting; the correct use of basic horticultural tools; planting and transplanting; basic site maintenance; basic techniques for managing and manipulating plant growth.

Assessment

Practical tests (40%); 90 minute examination (30%); assignment (30%).
