Subject Description | The objective of this subject is to extend the participant's ability to:
The content includes: The heritage movement with particular reference to culturally significant designed landscapes. Techniques and methods in the assessment of landscape significance and the development of conservation policies. The production and implementation of management plans based on conservation policy and the role of organisations responsible for the management of culturally significant designed landscapes. Case studies will be used to illustrate management issues. The importance of interpretations of culturally significant designed landscapes will also be highlighted. The nature of past maintenance techniques and the changes which have taken place over time, and changes in plant selection and planting style and their consequences in the management of culturally significant designed landscapes. |
Assessment | Two assignments: 1500 word individual report; 2500 word group report and presentation. |
