Subject Description | The objective of this subject is to provide students with skills and knowledge of a range of information management systems and techniques that are required to operate a business. The content includes: Identification of physical and financial records used in decision making. This process includes the keeping of records such as livestock records, cash books, inventories and trading and financial statements by both manual and computerised systems. Instruction in the role and use of spreadsheets and a computerised accounting package. The use of various communication techniques such as visual and technical aids; preparation of media releases; information sourcing and referencing techniques. |
Assessment | Two assignments equivalent to 1500 words each, two hour examination. |
