Subject Description

The objective of this subject is to enable students to handle weanlings and provide basic education to young horses.

The content includes: Procedures for weaning a foal and accustoming a weanling to be handled; procedures for teaching a horse to be ridden/driven and given basic education; basic horse hoof maintenance theory and practices; the manufacture and repair of simple leather tack.

Assessment

Internal students - Practical test (80%); assignment of 2000 words (20%). External students - Practical test (80%), assignment of 2000 words (20%).
