Subject Description

The objective of this subject is to:

  • develop an understanding of accounting systems;

  • develop an accounting framework for financial reporting and analysis;

  • develop an understanding of accounting statements.

The content includes: The accounting cycle and double entry accounting, accounting in agribusiness, accrual accounting and profit determination, accounting statements; case study exercises will be used extensively throughout the subject.

Assessment

Two written examinations (50% and 40%); assignment (10%).
