Subject Description | Students will rehearse and conduct a short piece of school-age difficulty and will be familiar with the basic problems of vocal and instrumental ensembles in the school setting. Topics covered include basic conducting skills, with emphasis on school-age ensembles. Baton techniques, rehearsal methods, score reading (all clefs), and preparation. Rehearsal of relevant repertoire material. |
Assessment | Regular seminar projects (50%); Practical conducting examination (50%). |
