Subject Description | The subject provides an up-to-date international comparison of planning practices and structures in post-industrial societies. The comparison is designed to expose what we do well in Australia and how our local practice can be improved. The main characteristics of current land-use planning practices comparing Australia with European, and some Asian nations. The relationship between land use planning practices, global socio-economic change and local culture. The basis of 'planning knowledge' in different cultural settings (epistemological and cultural assumptions). The information requirements of different forms of practice. |
Assessment | Written assignments totalling not more than 6000 words. |
