Spatial analysis and modelling techniques are explored to demonstrate the applications of GIS in a variety of areas including parcel-based land information system and network-based information system. Integration of remote sensing techniques is introduced to enhance the analytical capability of the spatial information system. Finally, the concept of an integrated GIS that acts as a decision support tool for urban local government is discussed.
